I am relativly new to genealogy although the interest has been there for a number of years, time has not. I have a number of people to thank for their encouragement, assistance, and love.

I am researching my father's ancestors: Davis, McElroy, Brunson, Rutherford, and Parnell; my mother's ancestors: McHenry, Walton, Wakefield, Matthews, Gatlin, Andrews, and Hanks.

I have several brickwalls in my maternal tree. Two are my maternal great-grandfathers: (1) John H. Wakefield who was born in TN in Jan 1827. On the census, he reported that his parents were born in Ireland, on another his father was born in England. He also lived in MS and AR before settling in TX. (2) Dr. Charles B(enjamin) McHenry, b. 1832/33 in AL. He also lived in AR before settling in TX. My 3rd great-grandfather, Cornelius Matthews, is also a mystery. I know he married Lydia Andrews and with several brothers immigrated to Davidson Co., TN in early 1800's. Who were his parents and who were his siblings?

There are brickwalls in my paternal tree. Samuel Rutherford married Cynthia Parnell before 1804. Samuel's father's name may have been James and Cynthia's father was only know as "Choctaw Indian" Parnell. They had, at least one child, Henry about 1804.

I will gradly share information I have and am grateful for any information you will share with me.
