The Schwab,Swope,Soape Family TreeUpdated September 5, 2000 |
The Soape name was derived from Swope and Schwab.Hans Ulrich Schwab(aka.Joseph Schwab) moved his family from Germany to America. The Soapes(Schwabs&Swopes) are originally full-blooded German. The earliest ancestor that could be found was George Schwab from Baden,Germany and born in 1610.(see Internet tree)He married Margaretha Zimmerman and had a son,Jost Schwab.Jost married Anna Wolfhardt in May 17,1681.Together,they had ten children. One of their sons was Hans (Joseph) Ulrich Schwab. This man and his family are our immigrating ancestors.Once in the US,they changed their last name to SWOPE;except for one son named George Soape.(I Don't Know Why HE Chose Soape)He is the first SOAPE.He married Mary Caperton and the story begins for the Soapes.A couple generations down,in 1838,James S. Soape married Elizabeth Fowler.Ms. Fowler was a direct descendant of the throne of England.(see tree)King Edward Plantagenet III. All Soapes born from this couple and up to the present time, have "royal blood". |
