Notes for William Sherman COUNCELL Sr: Like to hunt, expressly Quail in the later years, always had a good dog or two. Sherman died from burns after a can of gasoline caught fire as he was taking the gas to his tractor one Friday night, we believe the can caught fire as he crossed the electric fence.

The Easton Star-Democrat, Easton, Maryland, Saturday February 7, 1920: Councell - Plugge A beautiful wedding took place at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Cordova, Thursday, January 8, the contracting parties being Miss Florence Matilda Plugge, daughter of Mrs. Kummer, of near Cordova, and Mr. Sherman Councell, of near Chapel. The bride wore a gown of white georgette crepe and satin trimmed with beaded ornaments, with veil caught with orange blossoms, and carried white carnations and fern. The matron of honor, Mrs Joseph C. Vaughan, of North Carolina, sister of the groom, wore a white georgette embroided in beads, with a corsage bouquet of white carnations. The bridesmaids were Miss Florence Councell, sister of the groom, and Miss Estelle Gannon. Both were gowned in white embroidered georgette crepe over pink silk and carried pink carnations, The two little flower girls, Edna Mueller, Longwoods, and Beatrice McCormick, Cordova, wore little ruffied organdy dresses and carried baskets of pink carnations and ferns. Mr. Helmuth Plugge, brother of the bride, acted as best man. The ushers were Jerome Plugge, brother of the bride, and David Asche. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Friedenrite. The wedding march was rendered by Mrs. Oscar Huntemann. A reception followed at the home of the bride's parents.
