I live in Edinburgh, Scotland and am researching my family history. In particular this includes the Robertson, Harper, McCarthy and Marshall families who all lived and worked in Scotland's capital in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The first 3 families all have a history of North American migration - the Harpers and Robertsons through Ellis Island NYC. My Father Stanley's family - the Coulsons, Dobsons and Cresswells have their roots in the Gateshead (Co. Durham), Derbyshire and Notts areas of England. I am very interested to hear of any other relatives or individuals researching these families and am particularly keen to track down the ancestors of my paternal grandmother Harriet Dobson whose birth certificate has so far eluded me. |
