The Charley Hawkins and Mary Gibson Family of Coeburn, VA

Charley and Mary were both born in Virginia and lived in Coeburn, Wise County, Virginia for most if not all of their lives. Charlie had a wooden leg, which he used to say was due to losing his leg in the Spanish American War. Actually, he lost it while hoboing a train. Charlie had several brothers and sisters but was not close to most of them. His father was a farmer in Scott County Virginia.
