Looking for information on Earl Bixby Cowing, born in Meredith, Belknap County, New Hampshire on August 3,1895. Earl married Elsie Viola Woodward from Dresden Mills, Lincoln County,Maine. They left New Hampshire where Earl was in business with his brother and came West. They settled in Detroit, Michigan where Earl went to work in the automobile business. He became a Machinest for Ford Motor Company and shook hands with Henry Ford many times. After a few years he went to work for the Packard Motor Company.
Earl and Elsie had three sons, Dr. Donald Earl, Rev. Dr. Kendall Woodward, and Joe Wilbur.
Would like to trace family history back to 1600's. Earl was one of three brothers, the other two were William Eugene (DOB:1/1/1899)and Charles Irving (DOB:11/21/1892). Their Parents were Charles A. Cowing (8/29/1852) and Mary Abbie Bixby (5/25/1860). Charles A. Cowing's father was Charles Wesley Cowing (1/30/1829), Mother Jane Harris (5/1/1829). Charles Wesley Cowing's parents were Charles Cowing & Clarissa Barrett. Charles' father was Zachariah Cowing. (5/19/1770) His mother was Zeruiah Streeter.(5/20/1772) His father was Israel Cowing, Jr. 9/24/1724. Would be interested if anyone has more info. on this line.
