This is an accounting of John Cowan, Sr., a pioneer settler in Sugar Creek Township in what is now Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. John and his brother William settled on Depreciation Lands west of the Allegheny River in 1796. The land documents will be explained, the development of the Cowan family shown and their roots in Northern Ireland explored. Welcome.
