Ruth is about 60 years old in this photograph. She was born in MI and traveled to the west to live with her Aunt Belle Jenvey. She lived most of her life in MT. She spent the last seven years of her life in Seattle with her oldest son.

This picture was taken when the family gathered at my marriage to Charles Stratton Cox in 1953. It includes Franks' first wife, Kathy and their two children, as well as Chuck. The back row is Dick, Dan, Bob, Fred and Chuck, the new husband.

Nelson Cooper is the grandson of Belle Jenvey. His father was Guy Cooper.
- Elizabeth Garrison Baker (8 KB)
Elizabeth died as a young woman, within a month of giving birth to her fourth child. One child, a twin, died as a toddler. At the time of her death her oldest child, one of the twins, was only 30 months old. She lived all of her life in Indiana.

Ellie died in childbirth with her second baby who also died at birth. She lived all of her life in Michigan.

This is the only "good" picture we have of our dad. After several years of illness, he died at age 46, leaving our mother to raise six children alone. They ranged in age from 16 to 3 years old. He was born in Indiana and came to Montana in the early part of the 20th Century.
- Charles Marion Baker (45 KB)
Born in Ohio, Charles married Elizabeth Garrison and lived in Indiana where they had their family. After his wife's death he lived in Albian, Indiana. Later he took his two older children to live in North Dakota and Montana. Later he moved to Washington with his son, Fremont. He died in Washington State.

Fairy, daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Baker was born in Indiana and came to Montana with her father. She died in Illinois where she lived with her husband, Robert Hadden.
- Montana Homestead (19 KB)
This homestead was located in the Barr country near Hinsdale, MT. Ruth Baker is in the doorway. Her Aunt Belle is on her left. The others from left are Frank and John Baldwin, Nelson Cooper, and Bert and Nettie Baldwin. The homestead was later sold when it proved unprofitable.
