George Still was the Assistant Conductor on the MOSES DANIEL DETACHMENT. Their detachment left Cherokee Nation East on September 20, 1838 and arrived in the Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory on March 2, 1839. George Still's wife Catherine Downing was the Daughter of John Downing and the granddaughter of Major Downing.
