I began tackling my family history about eleven years ago (1998) - something I had been meaning to do since my Grandmother died when I was lucky enough to become the ‘keeper’ of her family photographs. I was fortunate – they were named and some were even dated too but I didn’t really know where these people fitted into the family. I now know that I am a descendant of the COX family from Gunby near Grantham, Lincolnshire; the MOGG family from Redditch, Worcestershire; the BARRATT family from Exton, Rutland and the MARSTON family from Enderby, Leicestershire (and of course there are many other name interests that have been added to the list through researching these families). By early years of the 20th century descendants of these families had arrived in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, met and married and had families - some large and some small but all providing me with much entertainment solving the puzzles of the family ties. I would enjoy ‘hearing’ from anyone who may have connections with my family.
