I am researching the Royal H Cox Family. The family settled in North Carolinafrom Pennsylvania. The main surnames in the family tree are Hough and Griggs as well as Cox. I will also be researching the Nichols and Beard family trees as well. I am very interested in the Civil War time period and already have a great deal of information from one of my ancestors, an Elisha Griggs, who served in the Civil War, mostly as an artillery gunner on "Baldhead Island" just south of Wilmington NC. He also was involved in the defense of Savannah during Shermans "March to the Sea". I would be very interested to hear from anyone with information about any of these surnames in these regions. |
