Mattie Virginia Ellis Goodrich died April 2, 2002, at Tandem Healthcare
Center in Williamsburg. She was 94 years old and lived most of her life
in Surry and Isle of Wight counties, many of those years in Rescue and Smithfield.

She was the oldest of 12 children and her deceased parents were Rose May 
(nee Warren) and Robert Benjamin Ellis. Mattie Goodrich was predeceased by
her husband Robert Lee Goodrich, as well as her son, Robert Ashton Goodrich,
and her grandson, Robert Alfred....
