Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
We have been documenting the threads that twist together from Scotland, Ireland, England, Russia, Austria and Poland to weave the next generations in our family. It always starts with stories: my father Alan Cox working his way to Germany on a merchant ship to study art and barely escaping the Third Reich. My husband's grandmother winning her way through ten grades in seven years and learning English as she went. My great-grandfather William Friend Cox was a gambler and broke the bank playing Faro when Denver was a city of tents. Bit by bit we have documented the scraps and stories. we will have better and more complete stories for our grandchildren.
