The Edward Coyne Family Home Page

Updated September 5, 2000

The Edward Coyne Family Home page is in it's infancy. I am currently investigating the Coyne side of my family. To date I have traced my name back to my Paternal Great-GrandFather,Peter Coyne. Peter Coyne emigrated to America in 1887. I was able to find this and other facts through a 1900 census search.
Peter who was born in Ireland in the year of 1865, was 22 years old when he came to New York. He married Kate Connoughton in 1891. Kate emigrated to New York in 1888. Kate was 17 years old when her family landed in New York. They were to have at least four children. Their names were Elizabeth, born in 1893. Bridget born in 1895. My grandfather Charles T Coyne born in 1897 and Michael born in 1898. They lived at 553 West Fiftieth
street in Manhattan. This Neighborhood is Known as "Hells -Kitchen". The neighborhood was 90% Irish.
My next step is to find a Ship manifest for both Peter and Kate in hope to crack the family mystery as to what town- ship my relatives came from. I will also be investigating Peter Coynes naturalization papers, as well as marriage and Death certificates. If anyone has any info on any of my family, or on any tips to help my family investigation please contact me at Westie50@AOL.com Thank you
