Marilyn E. Tonkovich "Smiths Creek - Marilyn E. Tonkovich, 67, of Smiths Creek, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, in Port Huron Hospital. She was born Jan. 2, 1933, in Lochmoor. She married Robert E. Wakeham on Feb. 12, 1955, in Grosse Pointe Woods. He died Nov. 9, 1977. She married Steven J. Tonkovich on Dec. 22, 1979, in Richmond. He died June 9, 1987. Mrs. Tonkovich was a member, past chaplain and past secretary-treasurer of the Almont Legion Auxiliary Unit 479. She retired from Hydraulic Tubes and Fittings in 1988 after 19 years as a corporate secretary. She is survived by her daughter and grandson, Julie Anne Wakeham Krauss and Scotty, Robert Krauss of Burtchville Township; her brother and sister-in-law, James and Irene Lahr of Roseville; her brother, Daniel Lahr of Allenton; her brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Norma Lahr of Allenton; her step daughters, Linda Sharpe of Port Huron, Janet (Red) Duncan of Imlay City; and Sue (Steve) Roberts of Almont; her brother in-law, John (Judy) Tonkovich; her sister-in-law, Mary Ann (John) Catherines; her brother-in-law, Ken (Ellen) Wakeham; her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Wakeham; her stepgrandchildren, Tera Jones, Angie and Joe Pedrotti, Jason and Andrew Wakeham, Joshua, Letisha and Brittany Roberts; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Darin, Stephanie, Anna and Zoe; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by a stepson, Robert A. Wakeham. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Arthur Smith Funeral Home, 1230 Seventh St. The Rev. Emerson Arntz, of Jeddo United Methodist Church and Central Lakeport United Methodist Church, Lakeport, will officiate. Burial will be in West Berlin Cemetery. Visiting hours are 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Friday. Pallbearers will be Jeff Krauss, Tim Lahr, Terry Bingham, Sam Bentz, Joseph Pedrotti and Steve Sancho. Honorary pallbearer will be Tom Wakeham. Memorials may be made to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation."
