The Bergeron
Family Reunion
Coordinated

Hi,
For those that don’t know me, I am Gail (Bergeron) Cannata. I am the daughter of David and Sylvia Bergeron. David is the youngest and only son of the late George and Olive Bergeron ( Your great, great-great, or just grandparents). Because my parents have in the past had the family reunions, they have been asked many times in recent years
when they would have another. When Valerie came to visit last year, she asked again if we could have a Bergeron Reunion. Due to the size of the family and my mother’s health, they are unable to have one at the homestead (For those that don’t know; they still live in the home that my father and his sisters were born.) So, Valerie and I have put together what we feel will be a wonderful alternative site. With a lot of help from others in the family, we feel that this reunion will be packed with fun for those of all ages. We would love to have as many members of the family come as possible.
So, Please join us for fun, food, and family on July
21, 2001.
Your cousin,
Gail
The (tentative) Itinerary for the day will be as follows: (This could change to some degree in the next few months. We will supply the final version at registration.)
12:00-1:00 Arrival and registration
1:00-2:00 Lunch:
Menu: Barbecued Chicken
Potato Salad
Pasta Salad
Baked Beans
Salad
Cranberry Sauce/Applesauce
***It’s bring your own beverage (No glass containers are allowed).
2:00-4:00 Will be recreation time. You
are free to use any of the facilities. There is a hall, a pond for swimming, baseball fields (bring softball equipment and we’ll try to put together a game), several volleyball courts, a playground for small children, and plenty of open space for running around or other activities we may be able to provide.
***Bring swimming apparel, beach chairs, fishing rods, a change of clothes for later if necessary, a cooler, etc.
4:00 At 4:00 we will all meet at the hall to see a 30 min. slide show of Aunt Sylvia’s famous pictures of past Bergeron Reunions. Come see if you can pick yourself or your family members out. We then plan to have a game/talent show activity where we hope as many people as possible will join in. Bring your talent or your sense of humor and come up with an act. We hope to get as many involved as possible. (We’ll have a sound system)
**We currently have the facility until 6:00 with the option to go longer if we want. We are open to other ideas of things to do. If we go longer, we will supply a platter of meat and rolls for a light supper.
****We will be passing out a scavenger hunt sheet where you need to find relatives to match as many questions as possible (such as: 5 people that live in another state, who has the most grandchildren, Someone with a masters degree, etc.). The person that gets the most signatures will win a prize. We hope this will help you meet as many of your cousins, aunts and uncles as possible.
***To keep costs down we are already asking you to bring your own beverage. Since it will be a long day and people like to munch, we’re also asking everyone who can to bring some type of desert or snack to put on a community table for later in the day and during the early evening.
*** Other items to bring: Your camera, a picture collage of your family, interesting things you’ve done, special moments, places you’ve been (these we can put up in the hall, be sure you label it so people can put names to faces.), …
***It was suggested that family medical histories be brought to let people know of any illnesses that could be genetically passed on from one generation to the next. This could be very important to someone in your family. It is personal, so it is up to you whether you wish to bring it.
***Things you’ll get to take home:
1. A complete family record (family tree) put together by Valerie and her husband, Allen. (If you haven’t already, send your family info: dates of birth, marriages, deaths, etc. to Valerie at Valcrow@aol.com or mail it to Valerie Crowley, 17803 Fernway Rd., Shaker Heights, OH. 44122.
2. A complete address, telephone, e-mail listing of all your relatives. (If I don’t have your phone number and your e-mail address, please send it to me with your RSVP to: Gail Cannata, 113 Dean Street, Norton, MA. 02766 or email it to gmcan@massed.net )
3. Hopefully, many pictures and great memories of this event.
