| When I was growing up I heard stories about my ancestors and that I was part Cherokee, Dutch, and Swedish. If I said them all here then what is the reason to even have a mystery if you tell every one about it. Good thing that I am not going too either. My fingers would hurt. They are hurting just me thinking about it. OUCH !! Now I am older and my curiosity has gotten the best off me. I just can't hold it any longer. I have to find out more. So in 2001, living in a small town, Wanting to get a better understanding of my ancestors. How they lived? Where they came from? If they came from across the seas, Why did they come, How did they survive?, and more to so many questions I have. As any Genealogist's knows you have to start with yourself, and well that is what I did. I just went on from there. Writing down everything I know, and asking questions from my immediate family. When they couldn't give me anymore I started my long long and wide journey down a road that I had know Idea what laid ahead. I searched and searched and when I was just about to give up I found a loop hole that opened up a whole world for me. I was jumping for joy. I found out that my Great-Grandfather Mr. Johnson built the first movie theatre along with raising greyhounds for racing. Isn't that something. Also his father came from Sweden to America when he was 18 and lived in a cave for about a year with a friend until they had enough money and they built a home there. So looky here there's my Swedish part. Then through my research I also found out that some of my family members came from France. Hey I am also part French. WOW !! Cool Huh? Well I don't want to give too much information up,then why would you want to ask me questions if I gave it all here. These are the Surnames that I have found. PAGE, JOHNSON, COUTURE, BOWMAN, AVERY, HUNT, WHITE, ECKROT, BRITTON, COENAN, PAZIO, CROSS, SILKMAN, AUSTIN (Don't know much about), AND CLARK (Don't know much about). If you have any questions, concerns, or if you could help me out on my research Please contact me with anything that has come across your mind. Don't hold back, just let it go. I don't mind. I would enjoy hearing from other Genealogists as myself on the search for unknown ancestors. Thanks. Hope to hear from you. |
