6. ABNER "AB" HAMPTON³ TACKETT (LEWIS B.², LANCASTER¹) was born January 11, 1853 in probably Monroe County MS, and died September 20, 1898 in Pope County, Ar buried Crossroads Cem. Pope Co. He married FRANCES "FANNIE" J. COLE September 09, 1880 in Pope County, AR, daughter of JIM COLE and REBECCA VINCENT.

Marriage Notes for ABNER TACKETT and FRANCES COLE:
Ab was a farmer. He had sore legs that wouln't heal. Fannie was 14, not 16
as was shown on Pope C. marriage records. Her firstborn son, Andrew, says his mother was 15 years older than him. She eloped with Ab. Her legs became raw from riding a horse and she cried and wanted to go home to her mama. After Ab died, she married Mike Whorton and Was known as Granny Whorton. She was a hard worker. When she laughed, she shook the whole house.
