He is stated to be a Silk Manufacturer living at Broughton Road in Manchester. Witnesses: - F. W. Cronhelm (uncle of the Bride - her father, George Otto Cronhelm died in 1822) Edward Cronhelm & William Cronhelm (cousins of the Bride) Thomas Williams Gardom (? father of the Groom) B. Williams Gardom (? brother of the Groom) Jane Wells, Eliza Terry and Frank Martin. John Williams Gardom owned a silk mill in Manchester. On retirement he lived in Butterton Hall which he rented from the Duke of Sutherland. [See photograph taken outside Butterton Hall with the Gardom family and F.W. Cronhelm and some of his family.] NB. 9f4,9f10,9f11,9f12 never married and were noted later to be living with their widowed mother in Wanstead, Essex. 1842 Directory - Williams & Gardom,16 Moseley St. and Broughton Bridge Silk Mills, Broughton Rd. Salford. NB. Garde Basil Gardom Q.C. was recently appointed (May 1995)Lieutenant Governor of B.C. 1738 Angus Drive, Vancouver. B.C. V6J 4H5 is a direct descendant of John Williams Gardom. Rev.Francis Douglas Gardom of 79 Maze Hill, London. SE10 8XQ, son of William Douglas Cronhelm Gardom (18 June 1884 - May 1994)is a direct descendant of Benjamin Gardom (9e2). I have also come across a Barbara Cronhelm Gardom, born in 19th. century. She was an artist (Miniaturist) who studied under Wm. Bouguereau in Paris. She stayed in Paris.
