1. 1870 Federal Census, Census for Henry & Catharine Meek, (Belmont Co., Richland TWPH, Ohio June 7, 1870), page 258-B, lists Henry & Catharine Meek, their ages, occupations, birth places (States), plus, the names & ages of ten of their children. Sarah is not listed, so, assume she was already in a home of her own.
2. 1880 Federal Census, (Belmont Co., Richland TWPH, Ohio), page 327C, lists Henry & Catherine Meek, their ages, occupations, birth places & includes the two children (Thurman B. & Rilla M.) who were not yet born during the 1870 census count.
3. Birth Place of Henry Meek, my 1945 Baby-book Family Tree cites Henry Meek born in Washington County, Pennsylvania. The 1870 & 1880 Federal Census, also, cites Pennsylvania as being his place of birth.
4. Belmont County Court of Common Pleas, Belmont County Courthouse, Saint Clairsville, Ohio, Certified copy of Henry Meek and Catharine Lucas's marriage license, (Document Entry dated April 19, 1847 and cites they were married April 15, 1847), volume 7 page 232, Belmont County Record of marriages.
5. Cemetery Record for Henry and Catharine Meek, I went to the Belmont County Courthouse in 1992, got information and directions to Mount Zion Cemetery and took pictures of my great grand-parent's grave site.
6. Old handed-down (Author unknown), Family Bibliography about David Nelson Meek, The story of my Grand-pa's life in Ohio, his six year trek to Oklahoma Territory, meeting and marrying Jennie Monroe and the life they shared in Shawnee.
7. David Nelson Meek's Bibliography, says that David and Jennie met in Lincoln County, Oklahoma Territory and they were married in the spring of 1889.

9. Rootsweb.com, Cemetery Record for Jennie Meek, "Electronic," copy of record includes her birth & death dates & shows that Tecumseh Mission Cemetery is where she is buried. I have been to this grave site many times throughout my life.
10. Shawnee Daily News-Herald, "David Nelson Meek's Obituary," March 30, 1919 page 5 & April 3, 1919 page 3, includes his date & place of birth & the names of all of his & Jennie's nine children. It says he was one of thirteen children, seven sons & six daughters, & is the first to die. All the rest reside in Ohio. One brother, Dr. Henry Meek of Bellaire, is expected to come for the funeral. 11. OK. State Dept. of Health, David Gregory Meek's Birth Certificate, (Delayed Certificate of Birth applied for February 10, 1942), Dad needed a birth certificate in order to register for the military draft. Lydia Monroe Hamblin (sister to Jennie Meek) signed an affidavit to verify that my Dad was born February 21, 1902. She knew this because she delivered him.
12. David Gregory Meek's Registration Certificate (card), certifies that my Dad registered for the Selective Service (Draft) February 16, 1942 and the law required men to have this card in their personal possession at all times.

14. David Gregory Meek's 1922 Shawnee High School Caldron, page 57, 58 & 59, My Dad played football and was a half-back. " He was our most consistent ground gainer." He is pictured on page 57 and is in the stories about the school team and games on pages 58 & 59.
