BIOGRAPHY: It's been said that Phillip was born in either Maryland or Pennsylvania . He was a farmer by trade. He had moved to Marshall county by at least Marc h 9 1839 when his son Samuel was born there. He has no marriage record in the M arshall county courthouse. He and his wife were known to be zealot members of t he Methodist Episcopal Church. His wife Susan was born in OH. They had 12 child ren together. Phillip died in Marshall county and is buried in the Fariview cem etary on RT 250 east of Moundsville WV. In 1999 the tombstone was almost unread able. The tombstone is shared with his wife Susan. Out in front of the tombston e are two small stones marking the exact spots of the grave - marked mother and father.
