We are researching the family of Ambrose and Mary Nix.Ambrose was born about 1800 and Mary about1802.They were born ,we believe in South Carolina.They were shown on the 1850 Pickens Co.censuswith thier four children,Mathew,Robert,Isabella andjames E.Nix.The three boys along with thier familieswere shown on the 1860 Cherokee Co.Ga. census.The three boys served with the CSA.James E. returnedhome in Jan.1863 but died there in May 1863.A daughter,Mary was born after his death. James E. and wife Nancy ? were shown with two boys,William Francis Green Nix,born1856 and John Henry W.born 1858.William Francis moved several times in Ga.and they had about twelve children.John Henry W. marriedMartha J.Amanda Pruitt and they had three children,FannieJohn Henry and Rosea Nix.John Henry married Annie LeeUpchurch and they had eleven children.We have all of the descendents of William Francis and all of the descendents ofJohn Henry. We are also researching the family of Drury and Lucy BarlowCrocker from the Isle of Wight,Va.we have a lot on the members of this family that came to Ala. but need data on the two boys who remained in Va. and married there. We also are looking for the ancestors of Lewis P.Freeman,born about 1850 in Rome Ga.
