The Shauna Crouter Family Home Page

I am researching the descendants of Peter CROUTER and Catherine STEPHENS who moved to Prince Edward County, Ontario in 1790. They originated in New York State. The family grew exponentially, and there are now Crouter's scattered throughout Canada and the USA.
I am also researching the family that Peter left behind in New York and New Jersey. This line of the CROUTER family was not as hardy. Of the 7 brothers left behind, only one family (that I know of) carries on that branch of the CROUTER family tree today.

Over the past 10 years, I have been in contact with many people researching the CROUTER family. The questions are always the same. Was Peter's father in North America? Was the family name changed? Are we of German descent? Did Peter leave anyone behind in the USA?
