You ask me about How Josephine died in Big Spring TX...The family had taken a trip, according to William Marvin (kid # 10) ... He said the heater box in the floor of the truck had caught fire and Josephine panic and opened the door, jumped over William and out the door before Lee could stop the truck. She was taken to the hospital. That's all that Dad (Wm Hill) remembers. He is now 85 years old as of 5
june this year. (July 12, 2003 from Vicki Lynn Hill)

Notes for LEE LONNIE HILL:
Lee was in the Grocery Business in Alexandria, LA, for many years. He either owned or managed a store on Third Street from at least 1931 through 1959. Much of the information on Lee's family is from his granddaughter, Lynn Hill. Other information obtained from the Alexandria Genealogical Library. Part of a letter from Lee Lonnie written Feb 23, 1953 is quoted here mainly because it names his parents, Josie's parents. This is quoted exactly as written:

"Life of Lee Lonnie Hill 2/23/53

"Was Born nov 1-1879 My Parents Was the Late sineter W. m. Hill and mother Emes Brimer Hill. and I Was maried to Josiefine Crump the Late Billie Crump and Milendy Brown Crump of Rapids Pa La and to this union Was Born 13 children. Josie Died Sep 10-1929 and Latter was marred to miss Minnie Maybell Richie and to this union Was Born 3 children..."

Then it goes on to tell of his work on the railroad and in saw mills. ELC July 12, 2003
