He married ANNIE H. ATKINS 19 Mar 1901 in Athens, Louisiana (Source: Lillian Wallace's Family Bible records the marriage date as May l901 in Athens.), daughter of MILLARD ATKINS and EVA KNOX. She was born 12 Aug 1882 in Athens, Claiborne, Louisiana, and died 15 Jun 1911 in Dermott, Arkansas (Source: Tombstone at Atkins Cemetery, Athens, La. and Lillian Atkins Wallace's Family Bible).

Notes for ALBERT SIDNEY JOHNSTON CRUMP:
It is very interesting that the Battle of Shiloh, in the Civil War, was fought at Crump's Creek in what is now known as Crump, Tennessee, on the Tennessee Alabama state line. During that battle General Albert Sidney Johnston was killed. Years later, James Franklin Crump, who served in the war from 1861 - 1865 named his second son (the first was James Jr.) "Sidney Johnston Crump". Records indicate that Crump's Creek is indeed a Coincidence and that had nothing to do with our immediate family. Also, James Franklin served in the CSA only in North Carolina and Virginia, and was never at Shiloh.

James Franklin Crump's first wife's father, Phillip George Henry was at Shiloh and lost an eye there. He lived near James in Arkansas, and they undoubtedly talked about the war. It is presumed that James named a son after the General even though he did not serve under him. Sidney Johnston was born in Aug of 1878, so would have been one year old at the 1880 census, where he was listed as "Albert". It is presumed that his full name was Albert Sidney Johnston Crump, but the Albert was dropped somewhere along the way. This Sidney Johnston's son may have been Sidney Johnston Jr., but since his father died when he was only five years old, he never used the Jr. after his name, and was always known by the family and friends as S. J. Crump. On the other hand, if the first Sidney knew that his full name included Albert, then his son would never have been a "Jr".

Sidney Johnston Crump, Jr. of Shreveport, Louisiana, still carries this third generation name.
