Notes for Josepha Botha: After Thomas died, their sons built a house for their mother in the town of Eat on. Later, she moved to Hewitt to live with her son Frank and has wife until he r death. She is buried at the Catholic Cemetery at Hewitt, Wi. Josepha Botha, T om's wife came from an Aristocractic family that had money. Her parents did not want her to marry thomas, but she did anyway (they Ran away and got married). Josepha was dis-inherited by her parents. when asked later why she did marry To m, she told them that Tom was a good dancer and she loved to dance. Some think that the Kautzer name was changed so that Josepha's parents could not find her, however the name was listed as Kautzer ver early in the Milwaukee directory- a bout 1863-before Tom was ever married.
