I am researching the families of Griffin, Law, Anderson, and Williams, who settled in central Texas in the 1800's.
Sylvanus Griffin was born about 1800 in Virginia. He married Mary "Polly" Murry in Hawkins County Tennesse before coming to Texas. He is listed on Republic of Texas poll list in 1846. I have not been able to find parents of Sylvanus or Polly.
The Griffin family reunion is held the second Saturday of July in Holland, Texas. Family members not living in central Texas usually meet at the Stage Coach Inn in Salado, Texas on Friday evening prior to the reunion.
