Robert Cumming supposedly was a drinker and his two sons Johnnie and Alex threw him out of the house. Sarah was not consulted and was left destitute after Robert left. Soon after John and Alex married and moved out of the house their mother lived in. Hilda's two daughters, Margaret and Evelyn, were the charges of Sarah. Helen was also in residence at that time. Shortly before Helen married, she visited her father, Robert. The next day he was to go to Florida with a new lady friend. No contact from him after that time.
