Find Family

Just starting to research Sickles family line. Information I have goes back to Zacharias Sickles who came to New Amsterdam in 1640's and settled in Orange(Albany), New York. He married twice, that I know of. An Anna Van Valkenberg in 1660 and a Maria Brevoort, year unknown. Direct line to him is from his son Robert(b.1644); his son, Zacharias (b.1694); his son, Michael (b.1727); his son, Elias (b.1766); his son, Elias, Jr. (b.1802); his son, Theodore Thurston(b.1824); his sons, Jacob Berry (b.1856) and John Staley (b.?); their son and daughter (cousins), respectively, Charles Staley (b. 1890?)and Goldie Evelyn (b.1903); their daughter, Anna Mae (b.1929). There is a link to the Civil War, Major General Daniel E. Sickles, who I believe was a grandson of Elias (b.1766) through Elias's son, George Garrett. (Rev. 03DEC2010)
