How I got started tracing my Heritage

It was about 23 years ago that my aunt gave me a letter written to her asking for information about our family on my mother's side. She wasn't interested in geneology searching, but thought that I might be.At the time my children were young and I really didn't have the time,but I did get a lot of information from my Grandmother before she died ,and I just put this away with all the names and dates that I had from the letter.It was 20 years later that I decided to try to sort all this out, so some of the dates that I have may not be exactly correct.A lot of the info that I have was compiled By a cousin Betty Heinze from Arizona,and my grandmother Rhoda Harley.
