I am researching the Cummiskey family of N.Y.C. My great grandfather Charles L. came to New York from Manchester, England about 1842/43. He married Margaret Byrnes (Burns) on Sept. 5, 1850. They lived in the lower east side of Manhattan and had 6 children, Charles W., William E., Mary E. (Eichenberger), Augustine L. (my grandfather), Sarah Jane, Joseph P. They moved to Staten Island about 1860. I'm also researching my mother's family. My grandmother, Mary Kennedy was born in Tipperary, Ireland on Aug. 28, 1875. She came to N.Y.C. in the early 1900's and lived in upper Manhattan. At least 1 brother, Thomas and a sister, Margaret also came to New York. She married Frank Milton on Oct. 2, 1907. They had 3 children, Mary F. (my mother), Ann R. and Alice. I would be happy to share the information I have with anyone that can make a connection to any of the above and get more information from you. |
