Joseph & Mary (Milligan) Thompson Framily of Johnson Co, KS
Joseph Thompson (1784-1852) married Mary Milligan (1790-1865), 22 Nov 1811, Adams County, OH. Migrated to Coulterville, Randolph CO, IL bef 1852. Joseph died of Cholera during the greatest pestilence in Grand Cote Pairie history. Mary moved with her children to Olathe, Johnson CO, KS between 1860-1864. Joseph was a strong abolistionist and his house, along with his son Joseph's house, were in active use and occupancy as stations on the 'Underground Railroad' during pre Civil War times. They were stong in their faith and active members of the Reformed Presbyterian Church. |
