CUMMINS (Irish) - BAIRD (Scots) Family Tree

Updated June 9, 2009

My 6th great-grandmother, Christina McGuire (b. 10 Feb 1753), married Capt. Charles Gatliff on December 31, 1772 in Jefferson, Pennsylvania. Christina along with several others (including 4 of her children) were captured by the British Captain Henry Bird and several Ohio Indian tribes from Martin Fort in Kentucky in 1780. They were marched to the British Fort Detroit.

Christina was reunited with her husband, Captain Charles Gatliff at the end of the American Revolution in 1783 with only 2 of her 4 children. One child (John Speed Gatliff) was likely taken by one of the indian tribes. The baby (referred to as Sis) may have died during the rugged trip to Fort Detroit.

We are also descendants of Sarah Boone (Daniel Boone's older sister) and John Wilcoxsen. Sarah Boone is my 7th great-grandmother.
