He was born May 18, 1845 in Mohannes, New Brunswick, Canada (St David) or Maine, and died July 08, 1922 in Princeton, Maine.

Alexander was a laborer for the Maine Central RR. His family had been RR workers for two generations and moved from place to place throughout Maine during construction of the line. He met Lina while working in the Calais, Maine area, they were married in St Stephen, NB. She was employed as a housekeeper prior to marriage. They lived in Princeton for a short time and then moved to Bangor.
Alexander served in the Army during WW1, but saw no action.
