Notes for Sarah Ervin: The only "Sarah" listed as married to a "John Cunningham" in Knox County TN in the CD ROM KNOX COUNTY MARRIAGES 1784-1926 was a SARAH ERVIN. This "SARAH ERVIN" must have been John Cunningham's 2nd wife as the census shows she was only 21 yrs of age in 1850 and the oldest child of John was McCinsey age 10, then Hosey age 7, Robert age 4, and Dardis age 7-12 mos. This would have meant that Sarah would have given childbirth at age 11 if she was the biological mother of McCinsey, which is possible, but not very likely to be. Another genalogist in the cunningham family Carl York says that Sarah Ervin had an illegitmate son named Robert and an unknown father of Robert, and the Robert listed in the 1850 Federal Census in Seveir County may have been this other son of Sarah (more info needed)
