He travelled with his sister, Alice, and his younger brother, Daniel, in 1638 as indentured servants to the Richard Dummer family of Hampshire. This was quite a common practice during this time. They transported aboard the ship "Bevis of Hampton", disembarking at Boston, Suffold, MA. Probably after his 7-year indenture was completed, Samuel married Rebecca Church Abt. 1647 and settled in Newbury, Essex, MA in the Upper Commons near the Merrimack River.

Samuel was freeman 1673.

Daniel Poore, at age 14, came to America in 1638, with his sister, Alice, age 20, and his brother, Samuel, age 18. The Poores came from near Salisbury in Wiltshire, England. They embarked from Southampton, England, with Stephen Dummer and his, wife, Alice (who may have been the Poore's aunt) aboard the ship Bevis; Robert Batten, Master, in 1638. The Poores landed in Boston, Suffold, MA, and went immediately to Newbury where brother, John (who came to America in 1635) settled. Daniel remained in Newbury until 1644, when he removed to Cochicawic, now known as Andover. (Since Andover was not founded until 1649, he would not have gone there as a settler until then. I doubt if he went to Andover until after he married in 1650. Source: James Harris Creighton)

List of Daniel's children and 90 grandchildren were done from preliminary charts prepared during the beginning of his writings. Any changes or additions are separately sourced.
