Jean Baptiste (Crock) Cyr II (son of Jean Baptiste Cyr and Francoise Melanson)1 was born 1710 in Beaubasin N.S. and died 1785 in Crocks Point (near Fred. N.B).

He married Marguerite Cormier on January 26, 1733/34 in Beaubasin N.S.

His was a prisoner at Fort Beausejour during the last French and Indian War. After that he moved to the St. John river where Crock's Point near Fredericton, New Brunswick is named after him. He died in 1785 as the family anticipated the move to Madawaska. His nine sons moved to Madawaska where they built a new life for themselves. This family escaped to Kamouraska, Quebec in 1761 then returned to Fredericton in 1769 where they stayed until 1785 when he died and his nine sons migrated to the Madawaska region.

Lorsque Pierre Sire s'est installé à Beaubassin (Acadie) en 1668, il était un armurier de 24 ans. Deux ans après son arrivée, il épouse Marie Bourgeois et ils eurent trois enfants.

Au moment de l'exil en 1755, Jean-(Baptiste) Cyr, un descendant de la quatrième génération, et sa famille prenaient refuge à la rivière Saint-Jean où il fut prisonnier en 1763. Ses cousins, Jean et Paul Cyr, furent déportés au Massachusetts.
