| I am researching the family of John Skahill. He was born in Ireland around 1835/1840. He came to America and settled in the area of Saugerties, New York. John died on July 14, 1902 of Pulmonary Tuberculosis and was buried in St. Mary's Cemetary in Saugerties, New York. John was married to Hanora. She was born in Ireland around 1840/1841. She died on December 14, 1922 in Veteran, New York. John was listed in the 1880 census records as 40 years old and his occupation was listed as a Quarryman. He and Hanora had eight children, William (there were two William's, one died in infancy), Mary, Agnes, Margaret, Elizabeth Caroline and Patrick. Any information anyone has on this family is greatly appreciated. |
