I am reseaching the DAHMS/ DAMES family back to Pommern, Prussia.
The first group to emigrate were:

William (Wilhelm) F. and Anna C. (MARQUARDT) DAHMS
with numerous children: Carolina, Christian, Maria, Wilhelm, Wilhelmina,Frank, Ellen, Elisabeth, and Matilde.

The family originally was from Sabes and Sallentin located in Kreis Pyritz, Pommern, Prussia. Originally, the family name was spelled DAMES, and was changed in the early 1800's to DAHMS.

The family emigrated to the States on June 3, 1856 aboard the ship "Louis Napoleon". The ship arrived in New York from Hamburg.

The family settled in Wisconsin, ultimately making the family home and farm in Dunn County.

Other names linked to the above: KRUEGER, HARLEY, RONNEBERGER, SILLEMAN, ZILLMAN, ELBERTSON, HAEFNER, MARQUARDT, BEHLING, BEYER, GIESE, GUENTHER, HAGEN, KLATT, KOCH, COOK, MITTLESTAEDT, MITTELSTAEDT, OGDEN, PARCHMAN, SCHELHAUS, VALASKE.

I would appreciate any information, and am willing to share information.
