[Dunster:146] John Bemis was a soldier in the war of the Revolution. He married first, --- Tubbs, by whom he had three children: Benjamin, Lucy, Nabby. His wife died; and he married second, Jemima Whipple, who had nine more, making twelve. He died in Dummerston Vt. (note: VR:Westminster:117 names his first wife as Abigail Stevens)
