Zebedee Edminster, Jr. (Zebedee1), born 15 July 1792 at Cornish, New Hampshire, son of Zebedee and Mary (Bemis). He was the only child to marry and all later descendents of Zebedee are also descendents of Zebedee, Jr. He married 10 April 1814, Tirzah York, born 1796, in New Hampshire, daughter of William and Lucy (Hilliard) York. Author Child (48) gives this account of Zebedee, Jr., "They lived on the farm in South Cornish now (1910) owned and occupied by Charles S. Lear. He was a farmer, a man of unquestionable integrity and honor. He was rather an eccentric individual and of limited education. Yet he delighted in a gentlemanly address and deportment and he often used words unsuited to the case, that caused much fun for the fun-loving. Many of his expressions have outlived him and are still remembered. He was a good singer and for years led the choir in the Baptist church on the Flat. His majestic bearing in the choir is well remembered by the writer. He left Cornish about 1850 (?) and lived in Claremont (?) until his death 16 April 1858. His death was caused by falling off a load of hay, breaking his neck."
