He married (1) Juliette Nancy Wakefield12916 01 Oct 185112916. She was born 07 Mar 1832 in Roxbury, New Hampshire12916, and died 13 Aug 1862 in the Potomac River. She was one of the passengers on the ill-fated steamer "West Point," which came in collision with the "George Peabody," causing it to sink with most of the passengers.12916. Lewis Edgar, son of Obed and Louisa Dort, died May 5, 1854, aged 4 years and 6 months.

CITIZENS' NATIONAL BANK was incorporated September 18, 1875, and commenced business October 1, 1875, No. 2299, with a capital of $100,000.
The first board of directors were William Haile, Henry Colony, Stephen D. Osborne, Caleb T. Buffum, James Burnap, Samuel W. Hale and Daniel T. Tenney; President Stephen D. Osborne; Cashier, Obed G. Dort.
In January, 1878, Obed G. Dort was elected president and Henry S. Martin cashier, and continued in office until the present (1885). Present capital, $100,000; surplus, $25,000.
