In 1879, Mrs. Schoolcraft's health
not being good they crossed the plains in a wagon on easy time, so that she would not feel the high elevation suddenly. They remained in Longmont, Mr Schoolcrafts death occurring November 4, 1896, and Mrs Schoolcraft has made her home with her children in our city.
Mrs Schoolcraft united with the Baptist church at High Forest, Wis., about 1859, and was an active member of that denomination until her health failed and always a devited wife and loving mother.

SCHOOLCRAFT-At his residence in Longmont, of heart trouble, Wednesday, Nov 4, 1896, Christopher C. Schoolcraft, aged 71 years, 2 months and 21 days. The news of Mr. Schoolcraft's death was not so great a shock to our citizens as it might have been, owing to his long sickness. He was born in northern Vermont August 14, 1825, came to Colorado June 1, 1879, and has carried on the business of contractor and carpenter until age and sickness compelled him to leave that to younger people. He leaves a wife and three sons and five daughters, one of them in Pueblo and one in Iowa, the rest in Longmont. He was an upright honorable man, a good citizen, husband and father, and the loss will be deeply felt. The funeral will take place from the Baptist church, of which the deceased was an active member, this afternoon at two o'clock and the interment will be at the Longmont cemetery.   Notes for Henry Albert Schoolcraft:
[Received from Linda McBroom]

SCHOOLCRAFT-In Longmont, Monday, October 7, 1925, H.A. Schoolcraft, age 76 years, 1 month and 11 days.
Henry Albert Schoolcraft, better known as "Bert", passed away very suddenly at the banquet table, Home Coming Day, at the Odd Fellows Hall.
He had been in a very happy frame of mind and had gone up the stairs with the other men laughing and talking. A few minutes after taking his seat, he was stricken with a heart attack. His brother, W.D. Schoolcraft and those sitting nearby immediately came to his assistance and carried him downstairs. A doctor, who was present did all that was possible but could not bring him to consciousness and he passed away in 10 minutes from the time he was stricken.
Mr. Schoolcraft joined I.O.O.F. No.29 October 27, 1879, and for 46 years has been a faithful member of the lodge, serving his time thru the chairs and being Past Noble Grand. He also belonged to the Columbus Encampment and Canton No. 3 of the I.O.O.F. and was a member of the Redmen of Denver.
Mr Schoolcraft was born in Malone, N.Y. October 26, 1849, and came to Colorado in 1879, making his home in Longmont most of these years. He has made many friends here and will be sadly missed by them all as well as by the relatives, on whom he lavished great affection.
He has been associated in business for several years in the Noah's Ark store.
Besides his brother, Mr. Schoolcraft is survived by an adopted daughter, Mrs. W.H. Young of Daly City, California, Flora Belcher of Denver, Mrs. Eliza Lamb of Los Angeles, and Mrs. Lydia Branch of Grover, Colorado.
After it was learned at the Lodge that Mr. Schoolcraft has passed on, Ray Shattuck, Grand Warden of the State of Colorado, gave a few appropriate remarks, expressing the sorrow of them all at the death of the brother who had been faithful for so many years, and also said how fitting it was that he should go, surrounded by the friends he loved so well and in the lodge that he had been faithful to for so many years.
