Martin Francenia is shown as a female and was born in Nebraska. Per the US 1880 census, James and family was living in Miller, Gentry county, Missouri. According to Nona Clemons, James and Minerva moved to Gentry county about 1875, then to Elm Springs, Arkansas in the mid 1880s.
James Roper was a school teacher and drank a lot. Uncle Loon, James' son left him to go live with his mother, Minerva Jane when he was old enough. James was also reputed to be ornery.
According to Delpha Rader, from Buffalo Missouri, she says Jim (James Henry) came and lived with them for a while before Delpha's family moved to Montana in 1913. Jim went with them, but returned before they did. They lived there until 1915. He also stayed with them after they came back from Montana. His son Hugh came and got Jim and took him back to Arkansas. Delpha lived just a short way from Lois Roper Beard.
