Milo and his wife left Bainbridge for Ripley, Illinois where he was a school teacher, Justice of the peace and hotel keeper.While attempting to build a bridge across Crooked Creek he got wet, contracted pneumonia and died in Ripley, August 3, 1839, at the age of 29 years, 4 months, & 24 days.His widow married 2nd Andrew LaCroix at Ripley, they lived in Rushville, Illinois and she died in Nauvoo, Illinois on Aug 6, 1875.
