I am researching the history of the John Jockim Theodore Soomann family. I welcome information and pictures of anyone related to our family.

I know that John was born in Germany, but I don't know where. Our family believes his name was Schuman and that it was changed to Soomann when he came through Ellis Island.

I'm anxious to find people in the Menzer side of the family as they are decendents of John's step-daughter, Hattie Weiss. I have a picture of a young girl named Vera. I think she's Hattie's daughter. I also think Vera is the mother of Marion who is the mother of Russell. I would like verification.

My grandmother is Ida Rebecca Engelage Soomann. Please contact me if you have information about that side of the family.

    I know the upper left woman is Amanda and the lower left woman is Hattie, but I'm not sure if the little girl is Vera. Does anyone know?
