Notes for MERLE JOHN CHRISTY:
Merle attended Millerstown School, East Deer School and Tarentum High School. He went to Alaska with his brother Bill in February of 1955. He enlisted in the Air National Guard and then transferred to the Air Force in 1957. He served in Alaska, Texas, Illinois, Delaware, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, New Mexico, Florida, Viet Niem, Greece, Puerto Rico, Korea and Nebraska.
He served in Korea and Viet Nam with the U. S. Air Force from which he retired in October 1979 after 24 years of service. He was chief locksmith for the state of Wyoming since 1980. He also served in the
Retired Reserves since 1985, was a member of the Happy Jack Baptist Church, Commander of AM Vets #1065 and a member of the V.F.W. Post # 1881.
Merle resided in the state of Wyoming for the past 15 years of his life.
