Robert H. Dalton(1858-1928)Regions lived in:Kentucky, Tenn.,and Texas. Sometime between 1892 and 1900, he changed his name to Joe B. Brown(according to Texas 1900 Census). Rumors have persisted among family members that he changed his name because he rode with the Dalton Gang on some of their raids. We know that he was not a member of the original Lewis Dalton Family of 15 children - perhaps he was their cousin. Perhaps the secret of this mysterious Robert H. Dalton was buried with him because we helped erase everything with these simple words on his tombstone:Joe B. Brown (1858-1928). Could you help me solve this mystery? THOMAS B. ADAMS JR.(1814-1879)
His father, Thomas B. Adams Sr., traveled with Thomas Jr. and his wife, Frances, from Virginia to Crab Orchard, Kentucky. Thomas Sr. died in 1856 in Kentucky, however both he and his son were born in Virginia. I would like to know what county they were born in.
JAMES HENRY HYDE (1825-1873)
His father,Henry Hyde(1778-1860)came from England and was first in North Carolina. Then he moved to Tuscumbia, Alabama with his wife, Celia, and two children. Several more children were born there. Only two sons settled in Texas - and one of these was James Henry Hyde who married Mary Little(1826-1871). James and Mary are buried on their original farm in Red Oak, Texas. JAMES MONROE DOW (1826-1909) We cannot locate the father of James Monroe Dow. We know that he was born in Simpson Co.,Miss. James settled in DeWitt Co.,Texas with his wife, Jennette E. Simpson(1833-1877).Several children were born to this family - (one , Samuel Thomas Dowe, is my late husband's ancestor).
