JOSEPH NEWCOMB's Will
His wife is Elizabeth Newcomb will get the personal property and the land during her natural life and is to be executrix. Son, Aaron Newcomb gets land, son Martin 0. Newcomb gets land. Daughter Pamela Bonner gets $1.00. After the death of my wife the property she had goes to Ira Newcomb, Phelix Newcomb, Calvin Newcomb, Aaron Newcomb, and Martiia 0. Newcomb, my five sons. Witnesses Hosea Pearce and Prusiun Pearce. Probated 21st June 1847.

HERALD'S PRAIRIE TOWNSHIP.
This township lies in the southern portion of the county, adjoining Gallatin, and is bounded on the north by Carmi, east by Emma, and on the west by Indian Creek. It comprises one and a half Congressional townships, or fifty-four square miles. In an agricultural point it ranks amoung the first in the county. It contains an intelligent class of agriculturists, who have made good improvements throughout the county. The Little Wabash River enters the township near the center of the north side, runs south nearly four miles, then makes its exit near the southeast corner of 6 south, 9 east.

      Know all men by these presents that we, Joseph Newcom and Timothy O'Neil are held and firmly bound unto the commonwealth of Kentucky in the just and full sum of fifty pounds current money to the payment of which we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, Administrators firmly by these presents.
      The condition of the above Obligation is such that whereas there is a marriage shortly to be had and solemnized between the above bound Joseph Newcom and Elizabeth Oncil now if it shall always hereafter appear that there Is no just cause to obstruct said marriage then the above Obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue this 6th day of April 1813.
