Per conversations with Dave Goodman, Pearl Harrison, & Lauryn Shelley:

William was an alcoholic and was abusive. Therefore, William and Amelia gave their three children: Pearl, Florence, & Hilda to George and May Harrison to raise. The children were treated like slaves by May. The Harrison brothers used to make bathtub gin during prohibition.

William and Amelia are buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Baltimore, Maryland
